SAMER®TAS system at the PERN oil terminal in Gdańsk

At the Gdańsk Oil Terminal, we implemented the SAMER®TAS system to supervise and automate key processes related to the transshipment and storage of crude oil. The solution ensures greater operational safety and effective control over product flow.

Challenge

The PERN Oil Terminal in Gdańsk was designed as a strategic facility connected to Naftoport and the Gdańsk Base. Due to its scale and critical importance to national oil logistics, it was essential to implement a system that would:

  • enable precise management of crude oil reception, pumping, and storage,
  • ensure the safety of technological processes,
  • integrate with the existing pipeline and logistics infrastructure,
  • automate the creation of documentation and information flow.

Solution

The SAMER®TAS system was customized for the specific needs of the terminal and includes:

  • automation of pump operations and crude oil reception and pumping processes,
  • registration of received, stored, and dispatched volumes,
  • safeguards against uncontrolled losses,
  • a module for generating commercial documents and managing their electronic circulation.

The integrated system supports crude oil reception from Naftoport, the Gdańsk Base, and the “Pomorski” pipeline, and coordinates transfers to other PERN infrastructure points and industrial partners.

Results

  • High safety levels in technological operations
  • Minimal risk of equipment failure
  • Real-time control over crude oil flow
  • Streamlined logistics and document generation
  • Full integration with the terminal’s technical infrastructure, including pipelines and storage tanks with a total capacity of 765,000 m³
